Vlissingen, 1 December 2009
The Humares Group, specialist in the temporary placement and secondment of maritime, technical and industrial staff, has expanded its Executive Committee. Patrick van der Ploeg, former USG People, is appointed as Division Director for a part of the organization per 1 December. Eventually, he will grow into the position of CEO.
Founder and delegated Supervisory Board member Wijnand van Gessel will primarily stay responsible for the overall management of Humares. Van der Ploeg will first focus on the management of TiP personeelsdiensten, NOVA Engineering and the Dutch, German and Polish branches of the technical label Maintec. Eventually,
Van der Ploeg will take over all responsibilities of Van Gessel.
Patrick van der Ploeg (37) comes from USG People, where he was active since 1999. In his last position he was responsible for all technical working companies in the Netherlands. He was previously employed by the same group as Managing Director at Creyf's (Student and ASA) with some 130 offices in the Netherlands and at Technicum with 25 offices in the Netherlands. Before that, he was Operational Director at United Technical Solutions. Before his career in the staffing market, Van der Ploeg was entrepreneur in the retail sector. He has studied business economics and commercial economics.
Delegated Supervisory Board member Wijnand van Gessel shows very pleased with the addition of his Executive Committee: "An ambitious company like Humares needs proper management by people who know the market and have good management skills. With Patrick van der Ploeg added to our Executive Committee, the management of both our divisions is in good hands."
Van Gessel continues: "Patrick van der Ploeg has the skills to lead Humares. He is an energetic and driven individual, who is able to get the maximum out of his people in achieving the goals of the organization, while not losing sight of the human factor. With him there, we have an Executive Committee that will not only be able to guide Humares through the current difficult time, but that will also shape the ambitious growth plans of our company. Therefore, in the future I will transfer my responsibilities to him with confidence."
Van der Ploeg shows pleased with his new challenge: "After having worked 10 years independently and 10 years in a listed company, I thought it was time for a next step. Within Humares I found the combination which I was looking for: a medium sized professional organization with a huge growth potential where entrepreneurship and commercial activities predominate. This organization has special skills that offer good opportunities for the future, where the labor shortage will grow to proportions that we have never experienced before. The unique combination of staffing delivery models 'International Distance Matching', the 'apprentice concept' and 'Local for Local' offer good opportunities for future growth."
